How to Keep Milk Fresh
Milk can go bad quicker than most items in your refrigerator. Luckily, there are ways that you can extend milk's shelf life. Follow these simple tips to keep milk fresh for a longer period

Instructions

1  Buy milk at a grocery store. Choose a milk container that has the latest expiration date you can find.

2  Adjust your refrigerator's temperature to at least 40 degrees F. Ideally, the temperature should be 32 degrees F. Low temperatures help milk stay fresh longer.

3  Place the milk into the refrigerator as soon as you get home. Put the milk container at the back of the refrigerator, away from raw foods or foods with strong odors. Placing milk near these items may affect the milk's texture, taste or smell.

4 Put the milk container back into the refrigerator immediately after each use. Leaving a container of milk out in room temperature for even a few minutes can speed spoilage. It only takes a temperature change of one degree for milk to go sour.

5 Make sure the milk container is closed each time you aren't using it. A milk carton should only be opened when you are about to pour milk.
